ETHOS Film Awards

I am over the moon from the amazing experience we had at the ETHOS Film Awards this weekend. To be among SO many incredibly talented directors, actors, producers and hear my name being called out felt surreal. The Curious Woods won for Nature/Environment film!

This film has taken Pasha and myself, (sometimes joined by our lead actor John Henry Richardson) all over, to various film festivals, red carpets award ceremonies, but none even came close to Ethos.

The films that screened were mind-expanding, transformative, beautifully made, and had powerful stories from around the world. The festival was at the Laemmle Theater and I found myself surrounded by such beautiful, humble, incredibly talented filmmakers.

There were so many women! ETHOS is a women-run festival, three amazing powerhouses from the industry, supported by an incredible team. Every single panel I attended was enlightening and transformative.

I want to give props to Anabelle Munro, Founder and CEO of the festival, for hosting it with the grace she does. She made every filmmaker feel honored and special; everything was well taken care of to the smallest detail, and she was truly a bright light and proponent of the films. The most amazing Host/CEO of a film festival that a filmmaker could ask for. We all felt very taken care of. And as a result, the community was tight knit and felt like home.
